Beads with Esko

I thought I could get away with a quick bit of beading
Then I noticed that someone was watching me
In went the marbles!

He insisted on making himself a bracelet, picked out and threaded on all the beads
including green and orange mushroom beads

Suddenly a digger appeared in the bowl!
Beads were sorted, loaded and dumped into tiny bowls

A place to rest my eggs....

I discovered the other week that we had an egg cup shortage in our house!!!
Then after I saw Jaynes adorable egg cup collection I knew I wanted (needed) more!
Aimlessly trawling etsy for vintage egg cups and all the local opshops found these little treasures.....

A gorgeous rosebud with a lacy edge, a cute white birdy one and a simple white one all from Japan...
Then there is the cute little chick one that might be turned into a pincushion...

A cute tiny puppy and racoon egg cup from England, and my special bunnykins one.....

And this sweet vintage bluebird egg cup is for Jayne who got got me started!

For my beautiful niece on her first communion
Tiny delicate peachy pearls and silver cross necklace

The apple tree

On a cold windy day with a sick bub on my lap I got a tasty idea from our favourite Lynley Dodd book 'The apple tree'

It took 6 red ripe apples sliced and mixed with 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cornflour

And baked inside 125g butter, 1 1/2 cups plain flour, 1 Tablespoon water, 1/2 cup sugar combined

Then my biggest possum 'Scrunch Crackle Shlurp' ed 2 bowls full

I might have had a couple of bowls full too!

My creative day

I had an amazing day with a friend this week where we sat for a couple of hours and played with our crystal beads. This kind of event is rare when you are both busy mothers!
I was determined to start using some of the gorgeous beads I've been collecting and not had time to turn into anything. I'm so thrilled that I created 3 necklaces, 2 sets of earrings and a ring that I love.
Only one necklace is for me, it's not pictured here. I was wearing it when I took these photos. It's a gorgeous Amethyst point pendant made by Lunaozi Dreams that I've beaded up with round light and dark purple amethyst beads. I love it now and know that it will be one of my regular jewellery pieces.
Other pieces will be for sale
Goddess necklace with tigers eye, wooden and dyed howlite beads and a gorgeous ceramic goddess

Chakra goddess necklace with black obsidian, clear quartz, garnet, amethyst, carnelian, aventurine, lapis lazuli and a lovely blue tigers eye goddess pendant

Tigers eye and blue stone earrings

Here's some more pics of my creative day.......

The creative mess!
We managed to take over the whole dining room with beads!

Creation in progress
Sometimes I just wish I could use all the beads at once

Crystal wands for inspiration
Made with gorgeous gemstones by my friend, Lunaozi Dreams and Lucy's wands and wonders,
they are lovely to hold or gaze at!

So many beads so little time
I discovered I have 12 of these large storage containers full of beads and maybe 15 small storage boxes of beads! Yikes!

My cards for the day from my Toni Carmine Salerno Universal Wisdom deck
Both cards about creativity and being an artist
Perfect messages for the day, so spot on

My friend wearing her new chakra necklace I made for her

Looking forward to the next creative day now......

Weekend bliss

Recently we had a trip to the city gardens
We walked, rode and scootered across the foot bridge over the river
to the gardens

We watched ducks being fed and water dragons lazing in the Autumn sun

We pondered mirrored sculptures

And were amazed at how green and nurturing this little sanctuary is in the middle of the city
